Apple is reportedly looking to launch a variety of new and different jewellery accessories in 2017, as the company looks to expand its presence in the fashion and beauty spheres.
A report by the Wall Street Journal claims that the company is “looking to expand to jewellery, a category Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook said is a new area where it is seeing growth.”
While there is no official word yet, the report suggests that the new line of jewellery would be available in the same way that Apple Watch bands are now, with the company offering a variety options and prices for the various accessories.
It could also mean that Apple is planning to release new Apple Watches in different sizes, colours and materials in a bid to cater to different budgets and tastes.
The report, however, suggests that Apple could also be looking to take on the likes of Samsung, LG, and other luxury brands, which may be able to offer similar accessories in an effort to offer better value to the average consumer.
While the new jewellery options might seem far-fetched, it is likely that Apple has been eyeing up jewellery as a way to differentiate itself from its competitors in the retail space.
The company has already released its own line of Apple Watchers in a number of colours, including white, gold and platinum.
The new Apple Watch Series 3 comes with a new design, with a sleek design and a stainless steel finish.
This watch is available in two sizes: the 34mm and 38mm models, as well as a more affordable version, the 38mm model.
Apple’s latest watches also include an NFC-enabled smart watch face, which will allow you to scan your face in order to purchase products online.
Apple is also expected to unveil a number more products in 2017 as it continues to push forward with its plan to launch the Apple Watch series in the US, Canada and the UK.
