Retailers such as Wal-Marts and Sears are trying to lure customers away from bricks and mortar stores, which are increasingly under threat.
Wal-Mart has been expanding its online stores, offering a range of home decor and household goods to consumers.
The company is currently rolling out the first-of-its-kind Jewelry boxes at locations in Florida and Illinois.
The box is a small box with a shelf of accessories including books, CDs, and other household items, according to a video on Wal-mart’s website.
A customer enters a Wal- Mart store and opens the box.

“That’s a great way to reach people in a really convenient way.”
She said the company was also aiming to introduce a new online store at Wal-MATICS in the next couple of weeks.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase our range of goods that are perfect for families,” she said.
The first box is expected to ship in the fall, but Wal- mart has not yet announced an exact date for its online store.
D’Olivia said the goal was to build a large, loyal following, which could eventually be a way for the company to expand its online offerings.
“The beauty of it is that we can give people the gift of shopping at home,” she added.
Walmart has long been a strong competitor to Amazon.com Inc. and other online retailers such as Target Corp. in the marketplace for home decor.
In a 2015 report, the company’s Chief Financial Officer said the number of online orders rose 40% from 2015 to 2016.
