NEW YORK — You don’t need to have any jewelry or any fancy fancy jewelry to own a piece of the New York metropolitan area.
If you just want to buy something nice, you can have it for a very paltering $5.9 million, the Associated Press reported.
New York City sold out of the first batch of 2,000 pieces of jewelry and jewelry accessories to be auctioned at a Christie’s auction house in February.
The items were designed by designer Diane von Furstenberg, who was featured on the “Gossip Girl” series.
Von Furstenburg also has an online store where she sells jewelry accessories.
For a pittance, though, the auction house had the pieces for sale for $10,000 apiece.
