A jewelry drawer that was recently discovered in the kitchen of a West Virginia couple is a treasure trove of antique treasures, including a pair of brass rings, a gold chain, a crystal, a necklace, a glass figurine, and a pair that belonged to a local woman.
The jewelry drawer was discovered Wednesday by the husband of the homeowner, who was cleaning out the kitchen after buying jewelry for his wife.
The drawer contained three pieces of jewelry: a gold necklace, an antique ring, and the ring that belonged the woman.
When he returned to the kitchen Thursday morning, the wife found the drawer in the sink.
He had previously discovered it during a house cleaning at the home in August of last year, but she didn’t know what it was, so she put it away in the basement, he said.
The next day, the husband noticed a piece of metal, which he says was a small piece of jewelry.
He noticed that it was covered in scratches.
When he asked his wife if it was metal, she told him it wasn’t, but he wasn’t convinced.
“She came in and said she saw something in the bathroom and thought it was something in there,” the husband said.
“We had a conversation about it and I said, ‘I have to look at it.'”
It turns out, it’s a gold ring, the ring was on the back of her necklace and she thought it might be jewelry.
“While the jewelry drawer had been in the house for more than a year, the jewelry was found in just the past few days.
The husband says the ring has sentimental value to him, and that it’s worth a lot of money.
He was able to recover the jewelry from the drawer.
The woman was told that the jewelry will be auctioned off next week.
