Jewelry for Ashes is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is celebrating with a display honoring a stalker.
Stacy Stauer, a 34-year-old mother of two, was walking to the local Walmart on July 6, 2015 when she encountered the man who later was charged with first-degree stalking, the Associated Press reported.
After she left, the man followed her for nearly two miles before she finally stopped him.
She told police she saw him go into the jewelry store and then drive away.
Stauer’s father, Michael, told The Wall St. Journal that the jewelry display will feature jewelry she purchased in the store and his daughter’s ashes.
“It’s a very nice gesture to me because it was so difficult for her to go through with it,” he said.
“I just want to give her a happy ending and I think she’ll be very happy with it.”
