NYC jewelry store Pandora Jewelry is set to open in Manhattan on Tuesday, the latest of the city’s booming boutiques to open.
Owner Kristi M. Gullum is hoping the store will be a destination for anyone looking to get their hands on vintage jewelry.
“I think it’s a really cool concept, and it’s really an opportunity to bring something new to people’s lives,” said Gullums co-owner Kristin L. Anderson.
Gullums is hoping Pandora will be the start of a wave of jewelry stores opening in New York, starting with the new stores in Manhattan.
“We’re hoping to open the doors to many more stores in New England,” she said.
Anderson said Pandora will not be limited to the city of New York.
“It’s a community store, and we want to keep our focus on what’s really happening in our community, and hopefully we can expand out a little bit more to other places,” she added.
For now, the store is open for business.
The store is scheduled to open at the corner of 5th and Eighth Streets at 6 a.m.
Moody’s Group’s New York-based flagship jewelry store is set for a grand opening at the end of February, with plans to reopen in June.
Gollum said she is optimistic about opening Pandora in the city.
“People are really excited about our new location, and so far we’ve had a great response,” she told the Post.
“They’re really appreciative that we’re opening in a big city, because people are just excited to have a store like this open in their hometown,” she continued.
Pandora is not the first boutique to open here in New Yorkers.
Last year, the boutique chain Beauty and the Beast debuted its New York store in the East Village, a move that drew a ton of press and drew plenty of complaints from local residents.
Pandorans flagship store is located at 545 Broadway in midtown Manhattan.
